How is it that some people can eat whatever they want and never seem to gain a pound while others can't lose weight even with dieting and exercise?  Why is belly fat so stubborn?

There is a reason why the belly fat is so stubborn, and that reason is not based in lack of exercise or lack of counting calories.  Wouldn’t you like to understand?

In order to understand weight loss you must first understand how and why the body puts the weight on to begin with.  Too often we are starting at the wrong end of the problem.

You’ve heard that being overweight increases your risk for heart disease, stroke, high blood pressure, etc. While this is true, the idea communicated is that the increased weight gain is the problem.

"You need to lose weight to get healthy" is often heard.  This statement is not true and leads to all sorts of misunderstandings regarding weight loss.  The correct phrase is: "get healthy to lose weight."

An unhealthy body often packs on the extra pounds. As we help you to become healthier, You’ll find that you can lose weight faster. If you are feeling pretty healthy, yet are carrying excess weight, there are still improvements that you can make to your health.

There are four basic body types that reflect what is going on inside the body. Breakdowns in certain glands and hormones will cause a characteristic pattern of weight gain.  Understanding your body type will help you move in the direction of your goals.

Every person’s body is different. Understanding your personal body type sets the foundation for developing a program of exercise and eating and living that is specific to your body's needs.

Your body is equipped with the ability to burn fat. As you experience greater levels of health, you will more easily tap into that ability and the weight will begin to drop off.

Why are hormones important?

Hormones are one of the body's way of communicating with the different body parts. There are over 600 different hormones in the body.

Proper production and quantity of hormones depends on your level of health, your current lifestyle and your past history.

There are three hormones responsible for storing fat in your body. Triggering any of these three will sabotage your efforts at burning fat.

There are also six fat-burning hormones. Stimulating these hormones will mobilize fat as a source of fuel and burn it off.

You can't burn and store fat at the same time!  If you give the body a choice, it will always chose to store fat.

How do I Eat and exercise correctly?

Did you know that each body type has specific needs to support and improve their level of health?

Your body's needs are individual.  How you exercise and what you eat can help your body burn fat. If you eat or exercise in a way that does not support your body, you will not burn fat and will most likely promote the storage of fat in your body.

Exercising too much or too intensely can act as a stressor on some body types, pushing your body into a crisis mode and into fat-storing.

Did you know that eating too much protein for some body types will put excessive stress on the liver and push you into more fat-storing?
